Member Experience Associate
Job Description

Location: ArmorFit | Bryan–College Station, Texas
Employment Type: Part-Time, W-2 Employee
Compensation: $11 per hour

ABOUT ARMORFIT

ArmorFit is a fitness studio dedicated to helping people become stronger for everyday life through thoughtful coaching, individualized support, and genuine community.

Our Christian faith influences ArmorFit’s values and culture, including our commitment to serving others with integrity, compassion, encouragement, and respect. ArmorFit welcomes clients and team members of all backgrounds. Employees are not required to hold or participate in any particular religious belief or practice.

THE ROLE

The Member Experience Associate is often the first and last person a member or prospective client interacts with at ArmorFit. This position combines hospitality, member support, sales, facility care, and day-to-day studio operations.

The right person will be warm and personable without being pushy, comfortable explaining memberships and services, and willing to take initiative when something needs to be cleaned, organized, answered, or resolved.

This is not a position where an employee simply sits behind a desk. Member Experience Associates are expected to remain engaged with the studio, assist members proactively, and help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.

SCHEDULING AND AVAILABILITY

This position may include early mornings, mid-mornings, evenings, and Saturdays. Applicants do not need to be available during every time block, but consistent availability during assigned shifts is required.

Member Experience Associates are expected to:

  • Arrive on time and ready to work

  • Maintain reliable availability for agreed-upon shifts

  • Follow ArmorFit’s procedures for requesting time off or arranging approved coverage

  • Communicate promptly when an emergency affects their ability to work

  • Be available for occasional required staff meetings or employee training

COMPENSATION

Member Experience Associates are paid an hourly wage for all scheduled work, required meetings, and required employee training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

MEMBER AND GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • Welcome members, prospective clients, and first-time guests with warmth and professionalism

  • Check members and guests in for classes and appointments

  • Help first-time visitors complete required forms and prepare for their scheduled service

  • Explain what new participants should expect before their first class

  • Learn members’ names and contribute to a connected, community-centered atmosphere

  • Answer basic questions about class formats, scheduling, studio policies, and available services

  • Listen carefully to member concerns and help identify an appropriate solution

  • Refer questions or concerns to a coach, trainer, or manager when necessary

  • Follow up with members and guests as assigned

  • Treat every person with dignity, patience, and respect

SALES AND MEMBERSHIP SUPPORT

  • Explain ArmorFit’s memberships, class packages, personal training, partner training, nutrition coaching, and other available services

  • Help prospective members identify the service that best fits their needs

  • Follow up with leads and first-time guests according to ArmorFit’s procedures

  • Assist members with purchases, renewals, account changes, and cancellations

  • Process payments and retail transactions accurately

  • Provide clear information without using misleading or high-pressure sales tactics

  • Document conversations and follow-up activity within ArmorFit’s designated system

  • Support studio promotions, events, referral efforts, and community outreach

FRONT DESK AND ADMINISTRATION

  • Answer phone calls, emails, website inquiries, and direct messages as assigned

  • Maintain accurate member and guest information

  • Assist with scheduling, reservations, waitlists, and account updates

  • Follow ArmorFit’s procedures for payments, privacy, waivers, emergency information, and recordkeeping

  • Maintain an organized front desk, lobby, and retail area

  • Communicate schedule changes, member concerns, or operational issues promptly

  • Complete opening or closing procedures when assigned

  • Protect confidential member, employee, and business information

FACILITY CARE

  • Help maintain a clean and welcoming studio throughout the shift

  • Sanitize high-touch surfaces and shared equipment as assigned

  • Restock supplies and keep common areas organized

  • Assist with resetting rowing machines, strength equipment, and other studio materials

  • Check restrooms, lobby areas, and training spaces regularly

  • Report equipment damage, safety concerns, maintenance needs, or low supplies promptly

  • Take ownership of visible needs instead of waiting to be asked

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain it before working independently

  • Strong customer-service and communication skills

  • Friendly, professional, and comfortable starting conversations

  • Comfortable discussing pricing, memberships, and service options

  • Dependable and able to work independently

  • Organized and attentive to detail

  • Able to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining accurate follow-up

  • Comfortable learning scheduling, payment, and member-management software

  • Willing to clean, organize, reset equipment, and assist wherever reasonably needed

  • Ability to protect confidential information

  • Ability to receive instruction, coaching, and constructive feedback

  • Ability to communicate respectfully with individuals of different ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous customer service, hospitality, fitness, retail, administrative, or sales experience

  • Experience with scheduling or point-of-sale software

  • Previous experience handling payments or account information

  • Interest in health, fitness, or community-based service

  • Availability during early mornings, evenings, or Saturdays

A fitness certification is not required for this position.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal Member Experience Associate naturally notices when a new person feels uncertain, remembers members’ names, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of the environment around them.

We are looking for someone who understands that sales begins with listening well and helping people find the right fit—not pressuring someone into a purchase. The right person will care equally about the member standing in front of them, the follow-up message that needs to be sent, and the equipment that needs to be put away.

EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

ArmorFit provides equal employment opportunities to qualified applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
